Fighting For Someday

     Fighting For Someday is our music project out of Clark, NJ. Mixing poppy melodies with indie sensibilities, we know just how to tickle your eardrums. We put this band together almost 8 years ago, calling ourselves The Someday and playing Dashboard Confessional cover songs. Eventually original songs began to take shape, and with a new direction came a new name, along with new members. It was at that point that the idea of an album crept up in our heads.

     Happy Little Accidents, our aptly named debut EP, is exactly what it sounds like. Taking a different approach to our writing style, the majority of the songs featured on the album came about organically, almost accidentally (get it?) as we began to explore our musical interests. “Wait Wait Waiting”, featuring the sparse but undoubtedly awesome keyboards played by Colin, is one of the only songs we’ve kept from our back catalog, albeit an updated version, and opens up the CD with a bang. Obscurely titled “7 Letter Game” is probably the most deserved song to be featured on the EP, since it’s entire conception was the truest form of a happy little accident. Fan favorite “Stupid Gorgeous” showcases some amazing vocals from Robby and probably the most enthusiastic drumming from Justin. “(We’re Just) Symptoms Of Time” is a slow jam waiting to be unleashed, while “Orange Sky” is perfect melding of heartfelt lyrics and beautifully sculpted instrumentation. The penultimate track “Cue The Music” gives early fans a throwback to our original style while simultaneously being one of the catchier songs on the album. Finally, “Amateur Hour” is a nice treat since it brings Fighting For Someday back to its roots with the song being performed on Ryan’s stripped down guitar.

     All in all, Fighting For Someday is sure to keep your ears and hearts busy for a while. Keep an eye out for us as we attempt to expand into the big, big world, and most importantly, enjoy our Happy Little Accidents (pun).
